The Otomi Doll better known as Muñeca María began as part of a project to empower Mazahua women to reach financial independence. These dolls have become a national symbol that represents tradition and opportunities.
With the clothing and the colorful ribbons, they allude to the typical costumes of the Mazahuas, an ethnic group located in Querétaro, Michoacán, and north of the State of Mexico.
Our Marías collection was made by Mrs. Diana and her daughter Juanita, originally from Amealco, Querétaro.
Doll size: 10 cm.
